Female Edition: Valentine's Day Gift Ideas For Your Honey.

Men are really understanding creatures sometimes. You could forget all about the mushy, gushy, Hallmark holiday known as Valentine's Day and your man would be totally fine with it! He wouldn't give you silence treatment, he wouldn't burst into tears, and he wouldn't say those dreaded two words, "it's fine." He would just brush it off, forget all about it, and move onto the next day.

Wow, I bet they wish we were more like them!

If you're planning on celebrating the "holiday" by doing something sweet for your honey and need some inspiration, I'm here to help.

A sexy candlelit dinner, lingerie, and chocolate covered strawberries (in whatever order you fancy) are all wonderful options, however they're also quite standard and I'm sure you've already thought something of the nature. I brainstormed a bit and came up with a couple ideas that are a little bit different and perhaps a bit practical, but are sure to let your man know he's loved without belting love songs and throwing heart shaped confetti into the air.

Here are a few cute ideas to add into the mix that are a little more out of the heart-shaped box...

1. A cup of something hot. Whether you want to knit your own heart sleeve or simply sharpie on a little message of XOXO's next to the Starbucks barista's scribbles, dropping off your man's favorite morning drink with a little extra love is a great way to start the day coming from you.

2. Arrange for a box of Sprinkle's Cupcakes to get delivered to his desk at work. You can do this by quickly filling out a little Sprinkle's delivery pre-order form online. Tip: Check his schedule! I once ordered a dozen salted caramel cupcakes to be delivered to my boyfriend for our anniversary and it wasn't until after our romantic dinner when I asked about the cupcakes, that he told me that he never made it into the office that day! We ended up going back to his office and having a cupcake party for two, which was so much fun, but trust're paying for a local messenger to deliver, so check the schedule and surprise him when they arrive.

3. Write him a love note on a pad of paper from a hotel you once stayed at together. I know you could go on and on and on about all the little things he does that makes him so effing adorable - such as the intricate way he laces up his loafers in the morning, the subtle crunch out of a bag of Doritos before breakfast, etc. - but stop yourself. Make it short and sweet. The shorter it is, the easier time he has comprehending what your Shakespearean self wrote.

4. Show your man's best friend a little loving. And what I mean is, not his actual best friend...take his four-legged slobbering fluff ball out for a little grooming. It's a nice gesture, practical thinking, and gets one more chore out of the way - making you totally him and his bff.

5. Cook one hell of a dinner for him. If he's a meat guy, get your hands a little bloody. Maybe he's amoré over pizza, start rolling that dough (and not the GF crap you make him eat). Or perhaps he is super into le mexican burrito, liven up that fiesta. The point is - get into the kitchen and make the man what he loves. I've been pinning some great guy-friendly recipes on LisaPriceInc.'s pinterest lately - so be sure to click through them for inspiration.

Note: All of these ideas above go very well with sexy lingerie...and perhaps a bottle of Jack.

Welcome to San Diego, PRADA!

That's right. The beautiful city of San Diego is welcoming a brand new Prada boutique to Fashion Valley mall. I couldn't be more excited. No more having to trek it up the 405 to South Coast Plaza. I know a good thing is coming when my plastic is already screaming.

Come check out San Diego's first Prada boutique with me today, January 30th, for the grand opening! To get you as hot and bothered as I am about this, I've picked out a few of my favorite pieces from the new collection that I'm hoping to see in person.

Feast your eyes on these luxe pieces by Prada...

And get your man to come by tempting him with this biz essential...

Alexander Wang Gets Studded Up!

Alexander Wang recently came out with a fabulous new collection of bags that I'm so so obsessed with right now - think bold, leather, and most of all...studded! So hot. I'm exceptionally in love with the concept of entire rows of studs on the bottom (such as the Rockie Duffel featured below) and the price point (under a grand...cha ching!).

Here are a few of my favorites...

Styling Tips: Rock with chunky booties, unstructured garments, and feel free to get a little wild with colorblocking!

Fashionable Revenge; How to Get Back at Your Ex Without Saying a Word.

"Revenge is an act of passion; vengeance of justice.
Injuries are revenged; crimes are avenged."
- Samuel Johnson

Revenge. Some of us may have played it before, some of us have only watched it on TV. Don't worry, we don't take things as far as Emily Thorne, but I will give you a few fabulous pointers on my favorite way of winning the game.

1. Put down the damn spoon to the dark chocolate gelato. As Alfred Hitchcock so famously claims, "Revenge is sweet and not fattening." Let's keep it skinny, ladies.

Violet Fatale

2. Invest in a serious hue for your pout. I'm talking bold and I'm talking evil. My go to is Tom Ford Private Blend Lipstick in Violet Fatale. Not that getting revenge is a routine or anything...

Tribute Escarpin

3. Now for those shoes, two words: heel height. I'd go with a timeless black, and preferably patent. YSL has a pair that screams revenge, Tribute Escarpin.

Pascalare Tall Stretch Leather Boot

4. Or for some serious damage, a pair of knee high boots. You never know what you might be stepping on. My personal recommendation: Pascalare Tall Stretch Leather Boot, by Blahnik himself.

PS1 Medium Gotham-Print Satchel Bag

5. Throw down that clutch sister, you need a crossbody. Focus on Proenza Schouler's PS1 Medium Gotham-Print Satchel Bag - how's that for urban a**-kicking?

Miranda Kerr

6. Tight pants he won't ever be getting into again. Figuratively or literally, take it how you please. A personal favorite of mine, on Miranda Kerr (shown above).

7. Lastly, piled on those knuckle jewels and layer your eyeliner. You never know what could happen.

Bag Snob.

One of my very favorite twitter friends is @BagSnob.

Bag Snob - A Selective Editorial On Bags is a fabulous site that was founded by Tina Craig and Kelly Cook. They are fashionable, witty, and know a thing or two about bags. You may think you've got it going on the handbag department, but let me tell you...Tina and Kelly are true bag snobs! That is why I absolutely love them...and also why I decided to go ahead and chat with Kelly to get the low down on her snobbiest bag thoughts.

Check out this interview I had with Bag Snob, Kelly...

LMP: We all have that treasured bag in our wardrobe, which one is your very favorite?
Bag Snob: My turquoise birkin in chevre and a crocodile Bottega Veneta, it's white so I'm afraid to use it too much!

LMP: Where is your go to place for handbag hunting?
Bag Snob: I love shopping while traveling, I find the most unique pieces in the most unexpected places. But for everyday shopping, I love Barney's and Neiman Marcus. Online, Net-a-Porter.

LMP: What do you think is the best accessory to pair with a fabulous bag?
Bag Snob: A great attitude. Fashion should be about fun and how it makes you feel. It doesn't matter what you are wearing and how much it costs, if you love it you will exude confidence and that is always sexier than skipping rent so you can have the next "it" bag.

LMP: Do you match your bag to your shoes or mix and match?
Bag Snob: I don't like matchy-matchy but that doesn't mean I don't pay attention to coordinating shoes and bag. It either has to have the same color leather (can't have brown shoes and black bag) or be in total contrast. But I love it when I am able to do an abstract version of the matchy-matchy, like a colorblocked bag with shoes in the exact colors in an abstract print - like my Jackson Pollack print Bottega Veneta sandals.

LMP: Do you like neutral colors or bold?
Bag Snob: I am a bold girl, especially when it comes to bags. I don't have very many neutral color bags, I have enough bags to be very specific so I can always have fun with it. My favorite color is bright blue, which is so amazing with a neutral outfit.

LMP: What are your thoughts on matching jewelry to handbag metals? Is it a must or a mix?
Bag Snob: You can totally mix. I love to mix metals with jewelry, too. There has to be balance, you can't have the one stray gold piece with all silver.

LMP: Which style of bag is your personal favorite for day to day use?
Bag Snob: I have a hectic lifestyle - I am a full time mom and I have my work, so there is a lot of running around. Unless I am going out, I have been sticking to shoulder bags or better yet, crossbody bags, to keep my arms free.

LMP: Who is your favorite handbag designer?
Bag Snob: I don't have one favorite but my top 5 are: Hermes, Bottega Veneta, Marni (this season, not always!), Maiyet, Valextra

LMP: If you could have any bag in the world that you currently don't own, what would it be?
Bag Snob: A Chanel matte alligator classic flap, I'll take any color but would rather have it in a color like blue but a plum would be equally maddening. My birthday is coming up so if you want to email my husband, by all means =)

Kelly has also included her fab five essentials, check them out...

Bag Snob: These are my 5 Essentials (this is a concept we developed to help women build a bag wardrobe to ensure she has a bag for every occasion)

Hermes Evelyn - can't live without mine, I have it in menthe and etoupe

Chanel Python Flap

Marni Saddle Bag

Anything exotic, but my mainstay is a classic Nancy Gonzalez

Moncrief Trolley, comes with a detachable laptop case, essential for a blogger!

Thank you so much Kelly for doing this fabulous Q&A with me, you really are the ultimate bag snob! And I'll be sure to pass on a little note to your dear hubby with a birthday hint (Chanel matte alligator classic flap, cough cough!).

To my dear readers, be sure to follow @BagSnob on twitter, and to learn more snobby secrets when it comes to bags, check out Bag Snob - A Selective Editorial On Bags.

Spring Couture 2013

Alexander McQueen

Designers are bringing it full force this Spring with their Couture lines. I'm absolutely obsessed with the power plays between fabrics and textures, not to mention the overwhelming amount of black, intricate detailing that is trending through many of the designers creations. These looks featured by Alexander McQueen, Rodarte, Valentino, Giambattista Valli, and Elie Saab take basic black and embellishments to a fierce new level of brilliance.

Oxford Wedges...and they did not live happily ever after.

Oxford Wedges
Once upon a time in a sad land far, far away, there lived a pair of Oxford Wedges. The Oxford Wedges were the result of a horrible Frankenstein freak of an accident that happened when the two most ugliest pairs of shoes in the world (a pair of Oxfords and a pair of chunky Wedges) were bred to create an evil, step mother of a shoe. The Oxford Wedges never made it to the ball, they never got kissed by the prince, and come to think of it, they never woke up from that deep slumber at all.
The Oxford Wedges did not live happily ever after.
The end.

The First Lady Gets Her Choos On.

 Michelle Obama

First Lady Michelle Obama definitely stepped forward on a very fashionable foot during the 57th Presidential Inauguration in Washington DC, wearing a pair of satin pumps by none other than Jimmy Choo to the Inaugural Ball. The First Lady certainly has impeccable taste for footwear.

In With The New; B by Brian Atwood

In with the new, out with the old. Today we're ditching Brian Atwood and stocking up on his extra lettered line, B Brian Atwood. I'm really loving this line by Brian Atwood, his shoes are fabulous and he was brilliant by creating lower end pricing for his high end styles.

I'm absolutely obsessed with these shoes - they're comfortable, stylish, and when you're looking for a pair of high platforms with a specific pattern for a one night (shoe) stand, B Brian Atwood is your line.
As hot as Brian Atwood's original shoe line is (see above), B Brian Atwood pairs take up more space in my closet. Why? Because it's soooo much more economical. Buy four pairs (seven on sale) of B Brian Atwood for one pair from his couture line. They look exactly the same if you seek out the right styles. Personally, if I'm going to be spending $800-$1,200 on shoes, I want to be getting a red sole for my money or be rocking a fabulous Charlotte Olympia style...unless of course it's on multiple pairs of B's.

Layering Lust; Denim & Fur

I've most recently become obsessed with the current trend of fur and denim having a play date. My favorite way of perfecting this mix of mediums is by layering the two. To get this look, all you have to do is grab a denim button up (less bulky) or thin denim jacket and throw a fabulous fur vest/jacket over it. This is a combo that I'm seriously lusting after. It's relaxed and chic and appropriate for any outing.

Look, even our girl Rihanna is rocking this look. Personally, I'm a fan with matching light denim with lighter furs, darker denim with darker furs - but if you want a contrast, go for it! I haven't seen this look done wrong.

Inspired yet? Obvi.
Go play!

New Year; time for change.

"They always say time changes things,
but you actually have to change them yourself."
- Andy Warhol

I couldn't think of a better quote to sum up my new year and my hopeful resolutions attached to it. I'm so excited for a fresh start, but more so a revised continuation. I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday and rung in the new year in a way that fabulously kicked off 2013.
