Cowboy boots will always go in and out of style. It's just one of those things like high-waisted pants and round framed (John Lennon-esque) sunglasses. May you be excited to know that right now though, they're shit-kickin' status...in.
Best way to wear them: Authentically.
There is no hotter way to pull off the cowboy boot than by pulling off a genuine pair of cowboy boots.
You can buy a cheap pair of cowboy boots at Urban Outfitters, but they will portray a feeling somewhat like that of a Hipster just stepping onto the farm...lame.
I understand you may not want to go out and buy a real pair of cowboy boots because let me tell you...those serve a purpose not just for the sake of fashion and are therefore, quite expensive. My sister's dressage boots are roughly the same price of the last limited edition Chanel bag I received as a birthday gift.
That's something to think about.
If you're like me and want an authentic pair of cowboy boots without going completely 100% authentic, choose from one of these...

Didn't much care for my picks? Remember these guidelines when choosing an authentic pair for yourself:
1. Stick to the neutrals. No, teal is not a neutral.
2. Limited fringe. You are not trying to be Pocahontas.
3. Rhinestones and studs? Love. But not for this time.
4. Boot should end above the calf...anything lower is a cowboy bootie.
5. Pointed-toe beats rounded-toe.
