Desireable Feeding.

I'll probably be writing up a few posts dedicated to the fabulous commercial holiday that falls on February 14th. This is one of my favorite holidays for obvious reasons being that it is entirely dedicated to - red-soled shoes, L.B.D.'s and L.R.D.'s, chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, and for a few of us...maybe love (or just plain lust).

This post will be focused on feeding the stomach of the one you desire. And for all of you lovely single human beings out there, it is totally acceptable to desire yourself and feed your own damn stomach. If you're bitterly single, I actually highly recommend it.

Here are a few ways to go about doing this...

1. Make a home cooked meal from the heart.

Set the table, dim the lights, light a couple candles, maybe freshen up the room with a fresh vase of flowers. Cook something that you know you can pull off well. Also think it terms of what your Valentine enjoys. Now may not be the time to whip out the flour-less, gluten-free, taste-less (and break-up worthy) soy fondue. If it's a good ol' fashion BBQ that your man loves, marinade the meat and prep some side dishes. When he comes in, surprise him with the tongs and plate of raw meat and tell him to go fire up the grill. Men love to feel in charge anyway.

2. Serve up a pre-ordered meal from the heart.
Set the scenery as described above, but instead of you doing the cooking - leave it to your favorite restaurant! All you have to do is call for your favorite dishes to go, pick up, and plate properly before digging in. This is a fool proof route to go. I highly suggest it for the novice or accident prone cook.

3. Make a reservation from the heart.
No setting the mood, you're going out baby! Just be sure to put yourself together and throw on a hot outfit, the only scenery you'll be held accountable for is yourself. This is my specialty.

Is your main meal already being taken care of?

Lucky you! Why don't you surprise your Valentine with a little after-dinner treat? And no, I'm not talk about positioning yourself delicately in a puddle of edible chocolate (gross)...I'm talking about a little tasty treat to end the night off on a sweet bite! BTW, this is the perfect night-cap for those celebrating this holiday solo. And may I suggest indulging in both you and your invisible date's portions of the treat...your sweats will cover all bulging "situations" flawlessly.

I personally recommend purchasing gourmet treats off of Gilt Taste... This is a member's only site apart of Gilt Groupe that has fabulously priced sweet or savory bites (or sips) to share. From Cuvée Paradis Brut Rosé Champagne NV (93 points) to Balaboosta's Bakery Red Velvet Cookies, there are so many decadent choices to choose from - you may want to double book a few Valentine's for the day (just kidding).
