Flats for 5 Toes under $500.

Most of you already know my stand on flats...which is, that I usually prefer not to be standing in them.

However, I of course understand that there is a time and a place and a situation (or two) that sometimes calls for them. What I don't understand is why in the world would you pay any amount over $500 for flats when you can spend that money on a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps? People going against that reasoning absolutely baffle me (male population excluded...you live in flats - generally speaking).

This is why I don't have any Manolo Blahnik flats stuffed in my closet. Why spend money on Manolo flats when I can spend about the same amount of money on a pair of fabulous Manolo heels?

Yes, I have a few pairs of Fendi flats that rung up quite a bit over $500 due to a rare breed of hair, but they make me absolutely sick sitting there when they could have been a fabulous pair of sky highs. Le regret.

Obviously this is a Heels vs. Flats case, and you may think I'm biased because I have such a strong argument for one side over the other, but really...my reasoning makes sense whether or not you are a heel girl or a flat girl. You simply should not be spending a crazy amount of money on flats when you can purchase the same amount of shoe in heels. Case closed.

Here are some great flats for under $500 that you can slip your 5 little toes into...

The Noncommittal Diamond.

Gentlemen. You don't have to marry a girl in order to give a girl a diamond. Trust me, girls will love a diamond (or two or three) entirely solo. I would take a jewelry case full of diamonds over a life long commitment any day of the week!

So please, if you think that you need to get down on one knee in order to present a diamond, stop thinking that! Seriously, you'll turn into a sexy silver fox - it's stressing you out that much.

Noncommittal diamonds are the new fragrance.

Check out these fabulous noncommittal diamonds that your girl will be sure to love...without the proposal.

Fashion is Not a Luxury.

Fashion is not a luxury. Luxurious items do not make fashion. Fashion, according to the dictionary, is a prevailing style or custom. Fashion is something, such as a garment, that is in the current mode. Fashion is a manner. Fashion is a kind or variety. Fashion is a shape or a form. Fashion is a custom. Fashion is in no mode, manner, or varietiable way achievable to those only who live a life of luxury.

Just something to think about.

Milly by Michelle Smith, Spring 2013

Milly
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week
Spring 2013

I am absolutely in love with this collection. I think the mod styling is so on point for Spring 2013 and Michelle Smith for Milly put it out there majorly ahead of trend. Mod will be big big big this Spring, you can quote me on that. The vibrant colors, geometric patterns, and symmetric structure will be huge. Look how flattering and fun all of these pieces in the collection are. I just want to rip one of those fab fitted dresses off the model, pair it with a fun pair of strappy, metallic Jimmy Choos, and run carelessly around the town. Join me?

Los Angeles Shopping Standards.

No matter what the occasion, I always manage to spend a good chunk of my time in a different city...shopping. So obviously, this weekend spent playing in L.A. was no different.

We hit up the higher end boutiques on Melrose and Robertson (destination must), scoped out The Grove over a coffee stop, were total pedestrians strolling along Third Street Promenade in attempt to burn off a late hungover brunch at Real Food Daily, and fit in a quick bathroom break at Fashion Island on the way back home to San Diego.

Obnoxious, I know. Sadly, it's standard.

Here are a few of my obsessions from this weekend's browsing...

James Perse

If I could, I would live in James Perse. Sure, it's overpriced luxurious comfort...but, who cares? J.P. is an indulgence must and a year long wardrobe staple, especially for those of us living in Los Angeles down to San Diego.

Check out the looks for fall...

A Minimalist's Approach to Fashion.

Miranda Kerr

There is absolutely nothing about my wardrobe that is minimalistic in any sense. The only area in my closet that has a slight "minimalist" approach would be my organized Tod's loafers; I have a black patent pair, and a red suede pair...minimal.

However, I do greatly appreciate a minimalist's approach to fashion - looking at only the essentials.

It's the best way to get through a season effortlessly (one pair of Rebecca Taylor black silk trousers matches with everything) and economically (although those black peep-toed Louboutins aren't necessarily debt free).

Let me suggest a few great pieces every minimalist needs to have their wardrobe...

Michael Kors
1. A white blouse with no pockets or buttons.

 Samaire Armstrong
2. A LND; little nude dress.
WWD
3. An embellished black top.

Hermès
4. White pants that are not skinnies.

Tom Ford
5. Black sunnies. Black Nikita (above) are classic.
Dorothy Perkins
6. A bold maxi in a solid shade.

Prada
7. Prada Mary Janes.

Victoria Victoria Beckham Spring 2013

I worship Victoria Beckham. Fact. Her newest collection, Victoria Victoria Beckham Spring 2013 sucks. Opinion. V.B.'s style is beyond amazing. Fact. Her designing is slightly amateur. Opinion.

Take a look at the Victoria Victoria Beckham Spring 2013 collection...

 Great fabrics, not when together.

What is with the graphic?

 Cool neckline. Deep V+.

 There we go, fabrics matching.

Don't love the white to purple transformation.

Sleeves need to be ripped off.

Better, but sleeves still look weird.

 LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!!

Not collar crazy, print is fun.

 One word V.B., cargo???

 Black and navy fail.

Boring.

 Sheath should be tighter.

This is just wrong.

 Black & white print. Hate.

Kinda loving the circular flare...

 Print. Cut. Black band. Bad.

 Ok, the worst sleeves yet.

This is pretty.

I like, but not for everyone.

I'll take the shoes.

 Fun, but not posh.

What do you think of the Victoria Victoria Beckham Spring 2013 collection?

I'd love to hear your facts and opinions.
Is there any of it you'd wear?
Any of it you'd rip off to pile on top of my sleeves?

Xo.
